Career assistant
An active project inside a cooperative credit network: a single interface sitting on top of several HR systems, guiding each person along their own career path.
This experiment was born inside a client project. What is published here is the process and the learning, with names, numbers and screens kept out.
Where it came from
Career information was spread across different systems, each with its own login and its own logic. Anyone trying to understand their own path had to know in advance where to look, which only the longest-serving people did.
On the bench
Instead of integrating everything at once, we started with the layer on top: an interface that guides and, when it has no access to a system, explains the way to it. That let us deliver value before any integration project, turning a limitation into a starting point.
Where it fits
The same design fits any organisation that has accumulated systems over time and has neither the budget nor the timeline to integrate them all. Onboarding new people, navigating internal processes, meeting a standard: in all of them, an assistant that documents and guides delivers before any data project does.
What we learned
The layer on top is worth more than full integration. People do not want to know which system holds the data, they want to know what their next step is.
